Past President, Melvin Lee

Melvin joined NCPMI Board of Directors in 2008 and served as Vice President of Finance (2008-2010 & 2012) and Executive Vice President (2014).  He is committed to making NCPMI a leader among PMI Chapters in the delivery of value to its members.

As NCPMI President in 2016, Melvin’s vision was clear.  Attract and collaborate with corporate and governmental stakeholders (CEOs of fortune 500 companies, private for profit and nonprofit businesses, and Local & State Governments) to become integrally aligned with NCPMI goals and objectives.  Passionate about education and continuous personal development, he will advocate for the investment of additional resources to the PMI Educational Foundation in order to provide more educational scholarship opportunities for those wishing to pursue a career in project management.

Melvin retired from the Office of State Budget and Management (OSBM) as the Assistant State Budget Officer and was responsible for the Department of Public Safety and General Government. During his tenure at OSBM, he also served as the Budget Analyst for UNC-General Administration, UNC-Chapel Hill, NCSU, ECSU, and Health and Human Services.  Melvin is currently working as a Business Consultant for the Department of Health and Human Services, division of public health.

Melvin is married to Vivian and is the proud parent of four (4) children.  He graduated from Saint Augustine’s College and has a Master of Business Administration Degree in Management from American InterContinental University.
