This is a NCPMI Communication & Public Speaking CoP- NCPL Toastmasters Club Meeting. The Meeting includes prepared speech, table topics, networking, evaluations, jokes and multiple meeting operations roles.

Abstract:  

Table Topics are impromptu speeches that help participants think on their feet and speak on a given subject for one to two minutes. These skills can be applied in real-world settings including business meetings, interviews, weddings, sales presentations and networking events.

To master impromptu speaking, the presenter should examine the topic correctly, develop an organized speech and deliver the speech with confidence, within a specific time limit.

 About the Speaker:

Al Herr founded Alchemy Video in 2000 and is familiar with both sides of the camera as a public speaker, performer and a videographer/multimedia producer. For Alchemy Video he serves as the Multimedia Man, shooting, editing and producing final products to be used on the web or DVD. He graduated from NC State with a degree in Psychology and a French minor, having spent a year abroad in Montpellier, France. After creating a funny video for a friend’s rehearsal video he decided to focus his energies on videography, a field that is constantly evolving, requiring a willingness to keep up with constant technical changes. 

Al is also a member of Toastmasters International (TI) and will finish his Distinguished Toastmaster Award in the next year. He has served in four club officer roles and as webmaster, videographer and go to person for multimedia needs. As a Toastmaster he has created innovative, training workshops for his club and is the instigator; keeping the meetings fun. He facilitated Make Your Resume Talk for Wake Technical Community College.
