Communications CoP: Winning Evaluations

This is a NCPMI Communication & Public Speaking CoP- NCPL Toastmasters Club Meeting. 

The Meeting includes prepared speech, table topics, networking, evaluations, jokes and multiple meeting operations roles.

Abstract

During the course of a work day, leaders are constantly called on to LEAD: Listen, Evaluate And Decide. This capability is an essential component of  activities such as negotiation, problem solving and conflict resolution.

Speech evaluation is a proven method for developing our ability to LEAD. This presentation will focus on speech contest techniques as a vehicle for honing our evaluating, listening and decision-making skills.

Learning Objectives

During this session, participants will learn how to:

  • Listen and think critically
  • Quickly compose coherent responses
  • Present responses persuasively

About the Speaker

Glenda Stone is a pillar in the RTP and Durham communities. She is a consummate professional with several years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, and has delivered outstanding performances as a speech contestant in District 37 Toastmasters. Glenda is an economist, real estate investor and a native of Detroit, MI.

  4. PDUs will be reported by NCPMI
  5. PMPs are required to provide their PMI numbers in order that their PDUs can be reported
  6. Please arrive on time in order that the meeting can start promptly
  7. Please leave the facility in equal or better condition than you found it
  8. The meeting will take place at Cisco in Building 12, 7200 Kit Creek Rd, Morrisville, NC.  Click on Location for directions.  When you arrive, PLEASE LOOK FOR THE NCPMI & North Carolina Project Leaders Toastmasters signs.
