Abstract:  

Project managers are constantly faced with team dilemmas. These dilemmas can lead to drama and productivity loss. This interactive workshop will present sample dilemmas and challenging situations for teams to discuss and solve.

Learning Objectives: 

  1. Understand problems and the creative problem solving process
  2. Identify types of information to gather and key questions to ask in problem solving
  3. Identify the importance of defining a problem correctly
  4. Use basic brainstorming tools to generate ideas for solutions
  5. Understand the roles that fact and intuition play in selecting a solution
  6. Understand how to identify the tasks and resources necessary to implement solutions
  7. Evaluate and adapt solutions to reality

 

About the Speaker:

Sharon Anita Hill, DTM, of Chapel Hill, North Carolina, is a professional speaker. In 2004, she founded Sharon Hill International where she trains corporate employees as well as university students in the area of etiquette. She also serves as a keynote and motivational speaker for professional organizations. A retired Junior Executive at IBM, Hill is a past president of the Greater Raleigh Chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners. She serves as an Officer for Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Triangle. Hill earned an MBA in organizational behavior from Kennedy-Western University. A past president of the International Society for Performance Improvement, she holds a certification in communications from Duke University and is a Certified Etiquette Trainer.

  1. This meeting is free for NCPMI & North Carolina Project Leaders Toastmasters (NCPL) members

  4. PDUs will be reported by NCPMI
  5. PMPs are required to provide their PMI numbers in order that their PDUs can be reported
  6. Please arrive on time in order that the meeting can start promptly
  7. Please leave the facility in equal or better condition than you found it
  8. The meeting will take place at Cisco in Building 12, 7200 Kit Creek Rd, Morrisville, NC.  Click on Location for directions.  When you arrive, PLEASE LOOK FOR THE NCPMI & North Carolina Project Leaders Toastmasters signs.
