Abstract:
A good story teller can motivate an audience, keep them focused, captivate potential customers, win bids, influence project outcomes and is the life of the party. In short being a good storyteller is an excellent tool to build your career.
Today’s presentation will focus on the “The impact and Benefits of Storytelling.” In this presentation, Don McNeil will brings Mark Twain to life with his impersonation of the legendary American author and humorist. Don's presentation will utilize a “Show and Tell” storytelling technique to illustrate the impact and benefits derived from mastering important storytelling tools and techniques.

About the Speaker:
Donald McNeil Author, Humorist & Featured Speaker · Professional Training & Coach
Don McNeill retired from his 39 year career with American Airlines in 2012. He loved storytelling and soon joined Toastmasters. Don has always been a fan of Mark Twain. He was a Mark Twain scholar since his days at the University of Missouri/St Louis. In 2012, Don started doing performances as Mark Twain at a variety of venues. He performed at events in Wilmington and Hilton Head. In 2014 Don again entered the Toastmasters Humorous Speech Contest. This time he gave a speech using what he had learned from Mark Twain. He practiced his speech at 9 different Toastmasters clubs.
Inspired by Twain, Don won the District Contest! In 2015, he tried again and came in second in the District. Mark Twain’s formula for storytelling has not lost its magic. Don has performed at more than 50 Mark Twain events. He is working on his first book and hopes to publish in March. Joining Toastmasters has been Don’s Key to Success
