Abstract
Peak performance requires excellent technical skills, but must be complemented by excellent soft skills. These skills determine how one works and interacts with others, and are needed to develop good relationships. They help to create a pleasant work environment, and build effective teams. Soft skills are transferable across several job functions, and are essential to a successful personal life.
Acquiring soft skills is a contact sport, and cannot be developed by merely reading books or just listening to presentations, but rather by deliberate practice. Toastmasters International recently launched the Pathways Education Program, to help members practice their soft skills in a low-risk, non-threatening environment.
Toastmasters International Pathways provide several paths for growth and development. This workshop will focus on Presentation Mastery. Projects in this path include:

About the Speaker
Derrick Williams first joined Toastmasters in 1992 and after a long 14 year break, joined again in 2014. He is the incumbent VP Education for the NC Project Leaders Toastmasters and is dedicated to helping members achieve their personal and professional goals in 2019.
He has completed several Toastmasters development programs and is on the cusp of completing the Presentation Mastery path.
