Yogi Muthuswamy, PMP, MBA, PMP-ACP, DASM
Yogi Muthuswamy is the President of YKM Tech Services that he co-founded in early 2021. The firm offers Professional Services in the areas of IT Strategy, Business Consulting, IT Program Management and Professional services. His current efforts include working with professors from a leading research university to commercialize their handheld device that rapidly detects and measures SARS-Cov-2 antibodies. He is focused on building this business to serve targeted government agency customers at this time.
For over 25 years, Yogi has managed projects, people, outcomes and finances for IT Services and Consulting. His professional experiences include working at Unisys for 20 years. Unisys is a leading Global IT Services firm. prior to that with IBM for over five years. He started his career working for Northern Telecom a software engineer, with stints at Alcatel and Tekelec, also in the Triangle area.
His passions include financial investments (for personal and noteworthy causes), which he has pursued since the early 90s, aided by formal education at the Fuqua School of Business, supplemented with common sense, experience, and invaluable guidance, help and mentorship from others. Along with his passion for speaking and teaching, he enjoys sharing ideas about investing, from the simple to the not so simple.
As NCPMI’s VP of Finance, he improved the organization’s financial sustainability by doubling its reserves over four years, by streamlining fiscal, investment and risk management practices. As the NCPMI President in 2020, with the onset of Covid 19, he instituted innovative ways to keep its membership engaged virtually both locally and with the global organization. He currently serves as a Director-at-Large in an advisory capacity.
He has lived in the Triangle region for the past thirty years. He holds an MBA from the Fuqua School of Business (Duke University along with an MS in Computer Engineering from the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor). He is a certified (PMP) project management professional and has certifications in Agile (PMI-ACP and DASM), Technology Business Management (TBM) framework and Cloud Technologies (Azure, AWS), and has been working toward Google Cloud Platform certification.
