Communications and Public Speaking CoP: The Power of Body Language

Communications and Public Speaking CoP: The Power of Body Language

Speech Title: "The Power of Body Language".

I am someone for whom reading social cues, body language and facial expressions did not come naturally.

I am a former social misfit.  The good news I share is that they are a science we can all study and master.  My journey is beneficial to you as speakers, and I will share some science about the power of your voice and your hands that you may find super helpful.

Learning Objectives:

1. There is a lot of power in your voice, here is how to be mindful in using it.

2. Hand gestures can benefit you AND your audience, I can show you how.

3. What is the difference between the most popular and least popular TED talks? The answer may surprise you.

Speaker:  Craig Gustafson

Craig Gustafson is a people person, with a twist. As a certified body language trainer, he helps introverts and others who may avoid social interaction to learn to thrive with others. He is also a Behavioral Superpowers Coach helping others lean into their individual gifts. As a self-described recovering social misfit (and 26-year submarine veteran), he understands that the science of social interaction does not come naturally to everyone. The truth is we all win when we have great interactions, and it is possible for everyone.
