Leadership CoP - Navigating Imposter Syndrome

ABSTRACT

Imposter Syndrome is so common that over 70% of people are dogged by feelings of being a fraud. And those feelings affect how we behave. New roles and responsibilities, a change in organization, and promotions bring the fear of being found out, the need to be perfect, and holding back in meetings.

In this workshop we will:

  • Dig into how imposter syndrome affects us
  • Explore the 5 imposter syndrome personas 

And you will:

  • Learn to notice when imposter syndrome overtakes you
  • Gain new skills to combat your imposter syndrome 

You will leave more equipped to handle those feelings of insecurity and fraud.

Denise Corey has over two decades of experience as a business leader in large and small corporate settings. She is currently working with energetic, committed, and engaged leaders who strive to meet professional challenges with confidence.

After receiving an MBA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Denise began her career at Bank of America. She was recognized for her leadership and invited to conduct many company-wide workshops.

Denise left banking to work for a startup heading where she headed up all business functions, including business acquisitions, leases, capital improvements, hiring and training employees, budgeting, marketing initiatives and training programs.

Denise was awarded her Professional Certified Coach (PCC) from the International Coaching Association in 2020. Her coaching practice is centered on the challenges facing leaders in the 9-5 world where they learn to define goals clearly, recognize their challenges, leverage their strengths and become aware of blind spots while confidently formulating a path forward.

Asila Calhoun is an Associate Certified Coach (ACC) and a Certified Inclusion Coach (CIC) whose leadership and executive coaching practice focuses on partnering with new leaders through executives from a variety of professional backgrounds who are ready for change.

Asila has a direct yet supportive style that facilitates self-discovery and growth in her clients. Asila is recognized as a coach who deeply listens to what her clients say - and do not say, inquiring about what she’s sensing while offering a different perspective.

During Asila’s 25+ year career as a strategic HR business partner, she successfully worked with senior leaders to enhance the skills, tools, and learning opportunities they need to successfully manage and support effective employee performance.
