Monthly Chapter Meeting - October 2019: The Power of Receiving for Project Managers: Amplify your connection with Stakeholders and teams

Sheraton Imperial RTP

Abstract:

As project managers, you are sandwiched between the teams you lead to carry out project objectives, and the client/leadership/management who ultimately hold (and often mess with) the schedule and budget controls. For you to be successful, you need to maintain productive and hopefully positive relationships in both directions. In this interactive and engaging presentation, Dr. Curley will share the 5 Principals of the Law of Receiving so you can avoid being drained and overwhelmed, and can focus more on the difference you are making. This is for you if the following sounds familiar:

  • · You often feel drained and stressed
  • · You want to improve your connections to your team and/or other stakeholders
  • · You are ready to experience more support
  • · You are tired of being last on your list of what is important
  • · It is time to be acknowledged for your contributions

Learning Objectives:

Attendees will have a better understanding of the following:

  • How the power of receiving (along with giving) forms positive connections.
  • Common fears that create static to block receiving, and thus success
  • The simple routine practice that amplifies positive connection
