Abstract:
Organizations depend on projects and programs to enable business and operational capabilities. Rapid changes in technology, dynamic marketplace, and customer awareness have forced organizations to become agile and deliver capabilities faster, better, and cheaper. Project Management professionals need to shift from traditional project management to agile project management practices. This needs shift from command and control leadership to servant leadership. Multiple agile practices are evolving to meet the needs of the industry.
This presentation focuses on how organization’s strategy is transformed into projects and programs, how traditional project management foundations are helping to improve agile project success.
The speaker will also highlight the importance of understanding and collecting implicit needs of the customers to improve project and product success. This includes delivering compliance, security, and other non-functional needs of business and industry.

Speaker:  Kaali Dass, PMP, Ph.D.

Dr. Kaali Dass is a Technology and Project Consultant at Cisco Systems, Inc. with over 25 years of information technology experience spanning multiple industries. He has extensive experience in managing domestic and international projects. Dr. Dass serves as VP of Technology and Communications for the North Carolina Chapter of PMI. He frequently speaks at PMI events and conferences of other professional associations on topics related to leadership, project management, quality, and security.

Dr. Dass has Ph.D. in IT Management, MBA in Finance, and has many professional certifications including PMP, CSQE, ITIL, and CSM.

His focus areas are Program Management, Project Management, IT Strategy and Planning, Enterprise Architecture, Data Architecture and Data Analytics.
