 le Project Management

 Abstract:
A new project management (PM) model h
as been developed at Arizona State University. It is being introduced to t
he PM community at the SKEMA Business School PM Graduate Program at Lille\
, France. The model replaces the traditional PM role of managing\, directi
ng and controlling to identifying and utilizing expertise in projects. It
goes far beyond Agile PM in flexibility\, risk minimization\, and overall
performance. The results have been shown in Pilot testing with a 90% decre
ase in effort by client organizations\, 98% customer satisfaction and has
led to 1% vendor cost and time deviation rate. The model utilizes performa
nce information that is simple and observable. It applies to construction\
, IT projects\, and any long-term service. In this session\, Dr. Dean will
demonstrate how traditional management approaches create more risk by rel
ying on trust and relationships. The presentation will present case studie
 s with results of a $70M construction project\, $2.5M IT project\, and a r
 ecycling service.
