Job Description

Provide support for the NCPMI Chapter Military Liaison in pursuit of the programmatic activities to Join, Qualify, Certify, Place and assist in the Transition of Veterans, Active Duty, Reservist and Guard personnel who are eligible and interested in attaining PMI credentials towards successful civilian employment as project managers.

 

Job Roles and Responsibilities: 

Heavily assist the NCPMI Chapter Military Liaison with creating the processes and procedures to build, supervise and oversee sustainable, scalable programmatic activities for Joining, Qualifying, Certifying, Placing and assisting in the Transition of Veterans, Active Duty, Reservist and Guard personnel who are eligible and interested in attaining PMI credentials towards successful civilian employment as project managers through membership in our chapter.

  • This responsibility includes, but is not limited to:
  1. Coordinating the activities of the Veteran Program Outreach Volunteers in identifying likely military organizational activities/facilities/commands under the influence of the NCPMI Chapter where Veterans in or near transition can be engaged along with the assignment of creating and maintaining relationships with Military Support Organizations (MSOs) for “mining” possible new members.
  2. Coordinating the activities of the Veteran Program Mentors in their activities to join new Veteran PMs (and “wanna-be’s”) to the NCPMI Chapter. Further, to assist in tracking the assignment and activities of mentors to and with new member Veterans through the “rocks and shoals” of qualifying for a specifically desired PMI credential, the efforts to prepare for the credential certification exam, placement (job-hunting) activities and professional transition mentoring usually required for long-term active duty military personnel who have been “institutionalized” in the Departments of Defense and Transportation.

 

       

Requirements:

            Active Duty, retired or honorably discharged from U.S. military (preferred)

            Certified PMP or CAPM strongly preferred; other PMI certifications acceptable

            A member in good standing with PMI and the NCPMI Chapter

            Good organizational and written / verbal skills

            Marketing knowledge helpful

            Computer, internet and Email access are essential

            Ability to work with others to achieve consensus

            Strong Networking skills

            Strong public speaking skills

            One year minimum commitment to the role
