Mobile Check-in System

Dear Members,

As a follow-up to our announcement at the January 2017 Monthly Meeting, I am glad to announce that we are migrating from existing legacy check-in system to the mobile check-in system and going live in April 2017 monthly meeting.

Please see below value and benefit for NCPMI:

  1. Eliminates the risk of failure during peak time check-in. Currently, we are running legacy and outdated software.
  2. Faster check-in using Mobile Technologies
  3. Eliminates larger hardware and setup before the meeting. Saves Volunteer time.
  4. Faster pre and post data processing.
  5. Extendible to CoP and Other events hosted by NCPMI

The members of Registration and Technology team worked tirelessly for the last three months to evaluate the vendors, optimized the process, and pilot tested its capabilities. I would like to thank Owen Guion, Manosh Majumdar, Chris Carter, and Georgina Hosang for their due-diligence, and commitment to come up with a solution for the complex process and technology problem.

What changed? The scanning devices during the check-in experience replaced the old PC-based system with a new State-of-the-art” Mobile scanning solution. Additionally, the process for on-site registration (including payments) has replaced the old “Square” mobile device with the new member login process.

What to expect: You as a member should not experience any change during the check-in experience. However, we may ask for your patience during for the first couple of chapter meetings as we stabilize the new system.

Pre-registered Members: The new system will continue to use your existing badge for Bar-Code scanning in addition to supporting a manual lookup for members not having their NCPMI badge. Please present you badge to a Registration team member to complete the Mobile scanning check-in process.

On-Site Registration: On-Site registration will require members and volunteers to complete their registration and payments using their respective account. Team members will have Laptops on-site providing internet access to complete the On-Site registration and payment activity.

When: Effective April 20th 2017 starting with the April Chapter meeting

Looking forward your help and support to make this go live a successful one.
