Communication and Public Speaking CoP: Clutter is Postponed Decision Making

Communication and Public Speaking CoP: Clutter is Postponed Decision Making

Abstract:

As Project Managers, we know the benefits of being organized… but reaching that state (let alone maintaining it) – that can feel elusive… maybe even impossible. The papers and stuff pile up and you can never get to it.  I’ve learned that when you finally clear the physical clutter, it helps you clear mental clutter, too.

In this presentation, I will discuss the impact that clutter has on us mentally and physically.  Then I will outline a 5-step process for dealing with your physical clutter and a SYSTEM for creating a Productive Office Environment that will help you save time, energy, and money.

Learning Objective

    1. How clutter affects your life and how you can create a personalized project to address it
    2. The six components of a productive office
    3. The three decisions to make about any piece of information/paper that comes into your office or home
