Innovation CoP: AI 101 and 2022 Trends

This session will review the basics that all business leaders should know about Artificial Intelligence, more specifically Machine Learning (ML).  We will review basic ML concepts and algorithms.

Next we will introduce deep learning and talk about the most exciting areas where deep learning is being applied - Computer vision and natural language processing.

And we will conclude with a review of 2022 trends in AI.

Our guest speaker is David Ellison.  David is a Senior Artificial Intelligence Data Scientist. Through Lenovo’s Innovation Centers, he uses cutting-edge AI techniques to lead development of solutions for external customers while internally supporting the overall AI strategy for the World-Wide Infrastructure Solutions Group. Before joining Lenovo, he ran an international scientific analysis and equipment company and worked as a Data Scientist for the US Postal Service.  Previously, he earned a PhD in Biomedical Engineering from Johns Hopkins University and is published in numerous top tier journals including two in the Proceedings of the National Academy of the Sciences.
