Abstract:

Remember the days when the most important thing about that once-in-lifetime job interview, presentation, or dissertation was getting there early? Now in our post-COVID world, add to the list of things to worry about is staying connected while using a video conferencing technology like Zoom, Skype, WebEx or Teams.

Let’s face it, likely you will be at home in your home office using your home computer and home Wi-Fi doing an event in front of hundreds, maybe thousands, of others watching and listening to you in that once-in-lifetime virtual meeting. What can you do to minimize the chance of a technology failure ruining that once-in-a-lifetime video conferencing moment where there are no do-overs?

Objective:

This presentation will show you five areas where you can drastically improve the quality and reliability of your home system in preparation for that special virtual meeting. This presentation will focus on the following areas:

  • Internet Service
  • Wi-Fi
  • Computer
  • Power
  • The Human Factor
