ComPubSp: 1st Annual International Speech & Table Topics Contest!

This is a NCPMI Communication & Public Speaking CoP- NCPL Toastmasters Club Meeting. The Meeting includes prepared speech, table topics, networking, evaluations, jokes and multiple meeting operations roles.

 Abstract:  

Each year thousands of Toastmasters compete in the Humorous, Evaluation, Tall Tales, Table Topics and International speech contests. Competition begins with club contests and winners continue competing through the area, division and district levels.

Join us on Tuesday, March 27, 2018, where North Carolina Project Leaders Toastmasters club (NCPL) will host its 1^st annual International Speech & Table Topics Contest! 

If you are looking to develop your public speaking skills and want to enjoy an evening of learning sharing and fun, register, show your support and  join us for this free event 

Learning Objectives: 

Attendees will have a better understanding of the following:

1. Importance of public speaking.
2. Speech preparation, presentation and time management
3. Impromptu speaking.
4. Use of verbal and nonverbal communication to enhance your speech.
5. How to capture and maintain audience attention.

About the Speakers and Speeches:

The speakers for this event will be drawn from our club’s membership roster. Some of the best speakers in our club will participate in the competition including our club president. We will have four speakers in the international speech contest and four in the table topics contest. For the international speech contest, our contestants will deliver their best contest quality speech. For the impromptu speech (table topics contest), all contestants are assigned the same topic. Contestants will be kept sequestered before the contest. The topic will be revealed to each contestant when they are introduced by the contest chair. Judges for the contest are drawn from a pool of experience toastmasters from other clubs and the district leadership.

Please note the following:

1. This meeting is free for NCPMI & North Carolina Project Leaders Toastmasters (NCPL) members
2. Space is limited if you register and cannot attend, please update the Chairperson in order that your space can be allocated to members on the standby list. -This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
3. Snack/Finger food will be provided
4. PDUs will be reported by NCPMI
5. PMPs are required to provide their PMI numbers in order that their PDUs can be reported
6. Please arrive on time in order that the meeting can start promptly
7. Please leave the facility in equal or better condition than you found it
8. The meeting will take place at Cisco in Building 12, 7200 Kit Creek Rd, Morrisville, NC.  Click on Location for directions.  When you arrive, PLEASE LOOK FOR THE NCPMI & North Carolina Project Leaders Toastmasters signs.
