This is a NCPMI Communication & Public Speaking CoP- NCPL Toastmasters Club Meeting. The Meeting includes prepared speech, table topics, networking, evaluations, jokes and multiple meeting operations roles.

  3. Snack/Finger food will be provided
  4. PDUs will be reported by NCPMI
  5. PMPs are required to provide their PMI numbers in order that their PDUs can be reported
  6. Please arrive on time in order that the meeting can start promptly
  7. Please leave the facility in equal or better condition than you found it
  8. The meeting will take place at Cisco in Building 12, 7200 Kit Creek Rd, Morrisville, NC.  Click on Location for directions.  When you arrive, PLEASE LOOK FOR THE NCPMI & North Carolina Project Leaders Toastmasters signs.

Title: Savvy IT Style

Abstract:

A combination of personal, professional, and educational experiences are equally meaningful and continue to shape the level of competence Shere brings to her projects. She will discuss how her interesting experiences has forged her resilience. And finally, she will discuss her future personal and professional goals.

Title: Mz. Thang — Finding your Speaking Voice

Abstract:  

Toastmasters is an organization that enables members to improve communication skills in a safe, encouraging, supportive environment. In this presentation the speaker will provide an illustration of the vocal skills required to find maintain and enhance your verbal communication and public speaking skills. 

Learning Objectives:

To enhance the learning process; attendees should focus on effectiveness of:

  1. Voice volume, pitch, rate and quality to reflect and add meaning and interest to the message
  2. Use of pauses to enhance the message
  3. Use of vocal variety smoothly and naturally

About Speaker 2: Sharon Anita Hill, DTM
