Abstract
Leaders must understand what to do to bring out the very best in people who contribute to the success of their organization. This requires a range of skills that a leader must develop through daily activities and practices. In today’s competitive business environment leadership skills are increasing important to create vision, build consensus around that vision, and innovate to transform the vision into a reality which produces desired results.

Leaders with successful teams have demonstrated the ability to achieve superior performance.  These teams have people who work together with a sense of unity, a common belief in that they are both contributing to each other and the organization as a whole.  However, effective, successful teams don't just happen, they take leaders who are able to chart the course for them to follow.  A leader needs to know what makes an effective team, how to build the team and then how to motivate them to success.

Learning Objectives
Participants will understand:
  • Characteristics of an Effective Team
  • The Team Building Process
  • Motivating for Better Performance
  • Coaching Teams to Top Performance

About the Speaker:
joshLowryJosh Lowry has worked constantly in teams throughout his career at IBM and Lenovo, both as a team member and a team leader over the last 18 years.  As both a member and leader, his teams have delivered their commitments on time to the company.  Ensuring his teams have the motivation to do the work and deliver results on time has been challenging, but the skills he's learned both through his career, his training in project management and in Toastmasters have all contributed to his success.
