Abstract:

Quickly resolving conflicts can be the difference between success or failure as a project management professional. Working together with team members to solve small differences, before they escalate and become a major source of discord, is key to having and maintaining a functioning and productive team.

In life and in business, conflicts are inevitable. Everyone has different goals, different values and different perceptions on an endless variety of issues and situations.

Any of these sounds familiar?

  • Being aggressive?
  • Escalations?
  • Getting angry?
  • Obstruction?
  • Withdrawing?

All can be symptoms of unresolved conflict.

Learning Objectives:

  • Recognize the target area of the beginning of conflict
  • Recognize how and why conflicts begin
  • Understand ways to prevent conflict
  • Know how to change conflict into a solution
