Synopsis of Presentation: Today, the world has become a global village. With businesses transcending geographic boundaries, project managers have to deal with a geographically and culturally diverse work force, in delivering business results. Understanding the cultural differences and adapting to them is overly important for project managers today, than ever before. This session would focus on techniques that you can use to identify and bridge cultural gaps, when “East meets West”.
Through this session the participants will be able to:
- Learn about the key cultural differences between the East and the West.
- Learn to identify, acknowledge, appreciate and adapt to the cultural gaps when East meets West.
- Learn about communication and collaboration tools/techniques that you can use, in your day-to-day interactions with a geographically diverse workforce.
About the Guest Speaker:
Saro Velrajan works for Ginkos India, as the Chief Strategy Officer. He has 20+ years of experience in networking technologies, working for leading companies such as Verizon, Cisco Systems, Ericsson, and Juniper Networks. Saro has an MBA in Technology Management from University of Phoenix. Saro has experience in managing large engineering organizations both offshore and onsite. He has held several roles in product engineering, marketing and product management. Saro’s interests include blogging, traveling, mentoring and public speaking. He is part of a non-profit organization called Toastmasters International, where he helps members to become better speakers and leaders.
