Abstract

Increasing workloads and demands present a new and, in some cases, challenging reality of managing competing priorities. Defining and understanding the difference between what truly is and isn’t a priority is the first critical step. These essential factors aid in how we effectively complete our assignments and how we efficiently manage our projects and teams. Without understanding how to successfully navigate the complexities of competing priorities, it can have drastic impacts on business relationships and outcomes. This presentation will present practical solutions on how to become more proficient in managing priorities.

Chiquta Harris

Chiquta Harris is a clinical research professional with over 10 years of educational and professional experience in various aspects of academia and industry-related clinical research. The majority of her experience spans from the study start-up where she worked in multiple therapeutic areas that include but are not limited to oncology, chronic diseases, hematology, gastrointestinal, neurology, infectious and respiratory diseases, immunology, and vaccines. She most recently spent roughly two years working in the start-up, clinical, eTMF, and project management functional areas on a COVID-19 study. She earned both her undergraduate and graduate degrees in clinical research from the University of North Carolina-Wilmington. Chiquta is currently taking time away from the industry as she pursues her doctorate degree in public health while working on maternal and child health philanthropic programs within her local community.
