Career Workshop – Establishing Your Career Goals

Career Workshop – Establishing Your Career Goals

Workshop Agenda

5:50 - 6:00 PM    Getting set up in Zoom

6:00 – 7:00 PM   Establishing Your Career Goals

Abstract:

When asked what their career goal is most people think about the next step in their career not the ultimate step in their career or what is known as their endgame. Not having a career goal is like going on vacation without a plan; none of us would venture out on a vacation without any plans, yet many people search for a new career opportunity without considering their career goal.

This presentation will give you a clear understanding of how to develop your own career goal and how you should consider every new job opportunity as a next step leading you to your career goal.

Learning Objectives:

  • Learn about why you should have a career goal
  • Learn how to map out a career goal and how to set short-term and long-term milestones
  • Learn how to approach a career goal with your current employer or why it may require that you change employers to achieve your career goal
  • Learn how to gain skills and experience that will help you achieve your career goal
  • Learn how to adjust your career goal if you decide to change professions/make a career change
  • Learn about working with a career coach to help you manage your career goal

Two NCPMI participants will be given a complimentary 30-minute coaching session to use within thirty days after the presentation. The two participants will be selected at the end of the presentation.
