Higher Education CoP August 2021: High Tech Healthcare - Managing Digital Health Projects

Abstract

For years technology has been delivering software using Agile (iterative) processes. This process was developed to support flexibility, efficiency and innovation -- not things healthcare has been known for in the past. So, how do you manage digital healthcare programs in a way that still supports the healthcare rules and regulations? We will discuss ways to set expectations for all team members involved, create processes to help support iteration while maintaining the rules and regulations needed in healthcare.

About the Speaker  

Jennifer McLaughlin is the VP of Program Management at Pattern Health technologies.  She has over 15 years of experience leading both programs and products at technology companies varying in size from 5 employees to 10,000 employees. As the current head of Program Management she not only helps customers design and implement their digital health initiatives, she also manages all ongoing support for research teams, clinical teams and patients. Joining a small company like Pattern Health has given Jennifer the opportunity to create and build processes and templates to better serve all of our program implementations. She loves working in digital health as it gives her the opportunity to combine her love of technology with her desire to help and serve others. Jennifer earned her Bachelor of Science in Mass Communications from Towson University and her Masters in Science from NC State University. 

This is a joint event between NCPMI Higher Education Community of Practice (HECoP), and the Duke Project Management CoP. The event is free and open to anyone interested in project management.
