Brad is a very experienced leader and businessman with a diverse organizational background including military service, working in large corporations, and building three successful businesses. Brad began his career as a Logistics and Supply Specialist in the US Army and then went on to work more than 28-years in the IT and technology services industries including 3 years in the electronic health care software industry. Brad has developed and taught classes in Project Management at the college level and continues to develop a strong framework for project management and business by following the principles of life-long learning.

Immunology Unit Manager -The Duke Human Vaccine Institute
I lead the Immunology Unit within the Duke Regional Biocontainment Laboratory (RBL), managing multiple collaborative and contract research projects for commercial, government and academic partners. My team and I design and implement assays for the quantification of immune reconstitution and immune responses.

The assays we develop and run support research into biodefense and critical public health challenges; long-running collaborative projects include the evaluation of radiation countermeasures and the development of vaccines for chlamydia, gonorrhea, and influenza. I work on a diverse range of immunological and technical problems as excess capacity within the Unit is available to scientists throughout Duke.

I am a Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and an IT Professional with certifications in Network Security, Network Management and Video Conferencing. After retiring from IBM, I started The ComTech Group Inc., dba Geeks on Call, providing technology consulting and solutions to small and medium businesses. I joined Bull City Toastmasters July 2013 and currently serve as Club President. I joined NC Project Leaders Toastmasters July 2014 and recently earned my Advanced Leader Bronze award. Living in Chapel Hill, NC I love traveling and cruising with my wife Sharon who is a Past International Director.

4. PDUs will be reported by NCPMI

5. PMPs are required to provide their PMI numbers in order that their PDUs can be reported

6. Please arrive on time in order that the meeting can start promptly

7. Please leave the facility in equal or better condition than you found it
