Social Good & Networking Event: Dress for Success Durham Donation Day

NCPMI is working with the Dress For Success Durham team in their mission to empower women to achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, professional attire and the development tools to help women thrive in work and in life.

When gently used and laundered women’s clothing and accessories are donated, volunteers turn it into retail goods to support Boutique sales events in Raleigh or Durham. All proceeds are then reinvested in services and clothes for their clients.

During this 3-hour Saturday morning shift, volunteers will help the public with incoming donations from the parking lot area (please dress according to the weather). We welcome members and non-members to attend. Children or young adults aged 13-18 need to be accompanied by an adult.

Come join us to lend a hand while networking with fellow NCPMI members. Join up after the shift for refreshments to continue building relationships that further the NCPMI missions and values.

Social Good & Networking Event: Habitat for Humanity ReStore (Durham)

NCPMI is lending a helping hand at Habitat for Humanity ReStore, processing home improvement and donation items that help families build and repair affordable homes in our communities.

Habitat for Humanity ReStores' Mission: Habitat ReStores help fund Habitat for Humanity’s vision of a world where everyone has a decent place to live. Profits from Habitat ReStores are put to use both in your local community and around the world. When gently used building materials or household products are donated to Habitat ReStore and then sold at a discount to a community member who needs it, those items are recycled and kept out of the landfill.

During this 3-hour afternoon shift at the Durham-Chapel Hill location, volunteers will participate in one or more of the following activities:

      • Receiving donations, stocking store shelves, sorting materials, and merchandising and pricing inventory.
      • For more information, please visit their volunteer support page: https://www.trianglerestores.org/volunteer

In addition to registering with NCPMI, all volunteers must register indpenedently with Habitat for Humanity ReStore at the attached link. Reminder: Wake County and Durham County have separate logins. https://habitatwake.volunteerhub.com/vv2/lp/ncpmi#_=_
