Social Good & Networking Event - Durham Rescue Mission
NCPMI is lending a helping hand at Durham Rescue Mission, serving lunch to local community members in need.

The Durham Rescue Mission's mission:

The Durham Rescue Mission is Durham, NC’s oldest and largest long-term homeless shelter, providing food, clothing, permanent supportive housing, vocational training, Biblical counseling, job placement, education, accountability and much more to broken men, women and children in Durham, Chapel Hill and Raleigh. Our doors are open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

During this 3.5 hour afternoon shift, volunteers will participate in one or more of the following activities:
  • Arrange tables, chairs, and serving stations, ensuring the space is welcoming and organized for meal service
  • Assist with chopping vegetables, organizing food trays, and setting up utensils and beverages for smooth meal distribution
  • Serve meals with a friendly attitude, ensuring guests receive balanced portions and accommodating dietary needs as necessary
  • For more information, please visit their volunteer support page:   https://durhamrescuemission.org/ways-to-help/

Important note to volunteers: Unlike our last event in April with the Durham Rescue Mission, we will be volunteering at the Women and Children's Shelter located at 507 East Knox Street in Durham.

Social Good & Networking Event - Note in the Pocket

NCPMI will help Note in the Pocket in their mission to provide quality clothing to homeless and impoverished children and families with dignity and love.

By addressing clothing insecurity we give a child what they need to feel comfortable and confident at school, allowing them to see themselves as valuable, capable of learning and success, and worthy of love.

During this 3-hour Saturday morning shift, volunteers will assist in processing clothing donations to prepare for distribution.
