Abstract

Managing complex matrix organizations can be challenging.  This presentation will touch on some of the success criteria and tips on how to be effective. The presentation will share insight into how life sciences are managed, the operating model across different functions, and the tools/skills required to make the organization work. Examples around people, processes, and technology will be shared as well as some more practical tips around cross-functional working.

Adam Higgins, Head of Digital Strategy, European Medicines Agency (EMEA) at The Janssen Pharmaceutical Companies of Johnson & Johnson

Adam has a broad range of commercial, clinical, and medical experience across a large number of therapy areas. Oncology, Cardiovascular, Respiratory, Immunology, Neuroscience, and Vaccines. As a leader at Johnson & Johnson, Adam leads a team of digital engagement consultants, digital health experts, content strategists, Digital operations, and Customer Relationship Management (CRM).  Adam is responsible for defining and owning the digital strategy for EMEA Janssen that includes evolving the “got to market model” enabled by digital, selected & scalable digital health initiatives and building capabilities to enable success for the business.

In addition to Adams’s vast skills and work experience, Adam holds a business degree from the University of Sterling, Sterling, Scotland, UK, and a Professional Certificate in Marketing from The Chartered Institute of Marketing, Maidenhead, Berkshire, UK.

This is a joint event between NCPMI Higher Education Community of Practice (HECoP), and the Duke Project Management CoP.
