Communications and Public Speaking CoP: Are you a leader?Abstract Our speaker tonight has developed a definition of leadership based upon his years of business and community experience that he thinks works for the 21stcentury, and beyond. During this presentation, he will create a working definition concept by concept that helps him navigate difficult decisions and serves as his personal roadmap to being an effective leader. Intro: Are you a leader? You may have a leadership position, but are you truly acting as a leader – and how do you know if you are? Our speaker tonight has been a community leader with more than 50 years of combined Board experience across 10 different organizations. He has been a leader in the Boy Scouts of America for the last 26 years and a member of Toastmasters since 2003. He currently serves as the International President-Elect of Toastmasters and will be inaugurated as our next International President in August in Nashville. |

Leadership CoP - Got Resilience?ABSTRACT Ask yourself, got resilience? How are you navigating through those hard, unexpected, maybe just busy times in your day to day life. Let's chat about how you use your resilience everyday. The goal of this presentation is for you to recognize how you are already resilient, and to take away skills you can utilize if you need that extra push. As Program Managers sometimes we get so busy managing everyones elses needs and can forget about our own needs. I will introduce skills you can incorporate while working on projects and leading your team. It's about us showing up everyday as our most authentic selves and maintaining a good balance. BIO Allison Jarrett
She is retired after 24 years in the United States Air Force. She comes with experience in health care administration, human services, leadership, project management, human resources, development and training. She has assisted key leaders on strategic planning, budget formation, business plan execution and coordination of wartime readiness for military personnel. Allison developed and implemented holistic and innovative resilience and positive coping strategies, and she crafted train-the-trainer individual resilience skills curriculum. She deployed several times during her service to our nation, including two tours to Afghanistan where she led multiple teams in support of combat missions. Allison’s top five VIA Character Strengths are Love of Learning, Leadership, Love, Spirituality, and Social Intelligence She works with people and organizations to develop, organize, and to coach teams in creating and managing end to end long term personal and organizational goals. Her approach is to look at what it is you have set as goals for yourself and or organization and how to get you there. Time saving approach, real results and unlocking the risk factor and what it means to take risk. Allison provides visioning goal concepts to map out your to do list. She builds and evaluates methods to assess program strengths and identify areas of improvement. Allison is the person to help you ensure goals are defined and achieved, by creating a specialized curriculum and facilitating training after accessing your organizational needs. In alignment with ALLE LLC, utilizing strength and resilience-based concepts will foster innovation, growth, and an empowering environment. This provides a space for people to be open and showcase what their strengths are. |
