Communications and Public Speaking - Moving Forward

Virtual Meeting

We have all felt stuck at some point in our lives. When that happens, it can feel impossible to keep moving forward toward your goals and dreams. Whether you’re feeling a little stuck working on a major project at work, or the initial excitement of something new has worn off, the feeling of being stuck, confused, and overwhelmed can keep us from progressing forward. Sometimes we just want to throw in the towel and give up, but don’t give up just yet. This keynote presentation will show people how to move out of their own funk and provide support and inspiration for other people.

  • How to change your attitude by changing your state.
  • How to block out negativity and take ownership.
  • How to stop looking at your future life through filters of fear and failures from your past.
  • How to assist others in moving out of their own funk.
  • How to move beyond limiting beliefs, old habits, and stories you’re telling yourself.
  • How to let go of what’s not working

Higher Education CoP: Networking Event

Join us for an in-person NC PMI Higher Education Community of Practice networking event. Instead of formal speakers, we will have designated project managers from different disciplines mingling among the attendees to discuss project management in academia. Bring your questions regarding the PMP exam, project management software and tools, risk management, and more! We welcome non-members, and we will have a table for people to learn more about the benefits NC PMI has to offer.

This event will be held at Clouds Brewing Brightleaf Square, 905 W Main St #22, Durham, NC 27701.

Using "Agfall" ('aj-fall) for Accelerating the Development and Launch of New Products in Life Sciences

Virtual Meeting – Conferencing details will be distributed prior to the meeting

Abstract

The core purpose of your role as leader of life science projects, programs, or portfolios is to help your organization achieve its objectives and help teams deliver high-quality outcomes with minimal time, effort, and resources.

Developing and launching new products in life sciences is typically a high-investment, resource-intensive, and multi-year undertaking. The journey of every product is filled with competing priorities and evolving uncertainties of clinical data, market conditions, and regulatory directions.

Life science programs require that PMs create strategic plans for critical activities and deliverables right from the start. However, PMs do not have to detail tasks for completing deliverables in the beginning. So that as new information becomes available, teams can reprioritize deliverables and adapt their execution.

Agile and Waterfall are methodologies for achieving desired outcomes, each with its virtues and drawbacks. While powerful in their own right, together, they can endow you with PM superpowers, especially in life sciences.

Join us to learn about "Agfall" ('aj-fall) — the practical approach for harnessing the powers of Agile and Waterfall together. Andy will walk his talk about Agfall and show you how to put theory to practice.
