Abstract:

North Carolina’s Triangle Region is home to more than 2 million people, the Research Triangle Park, three major universities and the cities of Raleigh, Cary, Durham and Chapel Hill.  It is one of the fastest growing areas in the United States and a global leader in the deployment of Smart City technology. This meeting will explore how project managers play a key role in moving “Smart Cities” from a buzz word to a transformative implementation that solves modern problems and provides economic growth. It will also focus on how project managers coordinate the many projects associated with the Smart Cities program.

Learning Objectives:

Learn how Project Managers can implement smart-city initiatives that drive economic growth and improve the quality of life of people by harnessing technology, that leads to smart outcomes. The presenter will discuss:

• How to engage with stakeholders to understand the problems being faced

• How to break down departmental and organizational silos

• When to pilot potential solutions and see if they’re compatible and effective before enterprise-wide deployment
