Virtual Workshop Series presented by Apex Systems with Live Q & A: Level Up Your Communication and Collaboration with Kupe Kupersmith - Workshop 6

Virtual (URL for the session will be provided prior to each weekly session)

Abstract:

NCPMI in partnership with Apex System is offering a Web Seminar Series on Time Management and Communications for All Practitioners. You must watch the on-demand webinar here prior to attending this live question and answer event. These sessions will be free for NCPMI Members and hosted online via ZOOM.

Overview:

  • In this highly interactive and fun session, Kupe, an improvisational actor, focuses on key improvisation lessons that will help you be a more attentive and flexible team member. You will walk away with lessons to help you suspend judgment, keep conversations moving forward, listen generously, and take collaboration to new levels. This will not be your average webinar where you sit back and listen. With Kupe’s Project management, Business Analysis and business background, he will be able to help you directly apply these skills on the job.
  • Why is this so important? The speed of business today requires teams to decide fast, learn fast and gain buy-in from all stakeholders involved. In Daniel Pink’s book, To Sell is Human: The Surprising Truth About Moving Others, he highlights improv skills as a necessary competency for everyone. This quote sums it up. “In improv, you never try to get someone to do something. That’s coercion, not creativity,” Salit says. “You make offers, you accept offers— and a conversation, a relationship, a scene, and other possibilities emerge.” Your role is to help move others to accomplish agreed upon goals. Using the Improv Advantage, your job gets easier!

Career Workshop – Establishing Your Career Goals

Virtual Meeting – Conferencing details will be distributed prior to the meeting

Abstract:

When asked what their career goal is most people think about the next step in their career not the ultimate step in their career or what is known as their endgame. Not having a career goal is like going on vacation without a plan; none of us would venture out on a vacation without any plans, yet many people search for a new career opportunity without considering their career goal.

This presentation will give you a clear understanding of how to develop your own career goal and how you should consider every new job opportunity as a next step leading you to your career goal.
