This course is taught in modules. Two to three modules are taught each day for five days. This course will provide the 35 education credits needed for your PMP application. The ten modules in the class cover the 10 Knowledge areas and 5 Process groups that form the basis of the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK), Sixth edition.

Abstract

Planning a large-scale conference is a massive amount of work and can be overwhelming - especially for those who do this on top of a day job.  It requires many late nights and weekends, budget worries, a roller coaster of emotions and a prolonged period of time when your loved ones, social life and free time must take a back seat.


It’s a huge responsibility - there’s no escaping that.  But, in this short keynote, Anika will show you how to quickly get organized. You’ll learn how to structure your team and how to keep them focused on the critical path activities.  Anika will show you how to make the most of the planning cycle and how to alleviate stress on the “BIG DAY.”

About the Speaker

AnikaWall

Anika Wall is Assistant Vice President of Solution Acceleration for Metife’s Global Technology Services organization.  In this role, she manages a team of Project and Program Managers who lead a wide range of initiatives focused on delivering global infrastructure solutions. Her team’s work entails accelerating time to value using methodologies like Kanban, Scrum and SAFe.
 
Prior to leading the Solution Acceleration team, Anika Wall governed the $274M discretionary budget for US Application Development. Her team drove Business Case development and project requests through the Governance Board approval process. She also served as Chief of Staff to the Vice President of Global Program Management for two years. In that position, she led strategic programs to enable achievement of the organization’s goals and managed day-to-day business operations.
 
Throughout her career, Anika Wall has remained focused on Project Management profession.  She has led teams in the development of PMO methodologies, chaired Change Control Boards governing software development solutions, planned large scale IT conferences in Las Vegas - NV and across Raleigh - NC, drove Agile adoption in global organizations and championed Project Manager effectiveness.
 
She has a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems and a Master’s degree in Business Administration. She also holds Project Management Professional (PMP) and Agile Certified Practitioner (ACP) certifications from the Project Management Institute (PMI), as well as Certified Scrum Master (CSM) and Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) SPC credentials.

Abstract

The ability to gain insights that enable strategic decision making are strengths of a tool enabled portfolio. Whether your portfolio budget is $500K or $500M, you need fundamental capabilities that help manage day-to-day PMO operations and long-term planning and development. Insights into risks, dependencies, capacity planning, demand forecasting and other project management capabilities are supported through tooling and data practices. This in turn helps drives the decision on which methodology is best suited to executing the project. The presentation will focus on how tooling has enabled the ability to manage large, complex portfolios of work; supporting individual contributors to senior leadership.
