PMO CoP- Establishing and Running a PMO successfully

Abstract

Successful organizations depend on efficient, scalable, repeatable and responsive processes. A Project Management Office provides the governance framework needed for establishing those processes. It provides the rules, tools and schools necessary to train, enable , monitor and align process adoption. A PMO is the fountainhead of a metrics driven and process mature organization. This presentation will provide you with critical information you can use to establish a successful PMO within your organization while avoiding many common pitfalls that have been the bane of many who have traversed this path.
 
An effective PMO can directly contribute to the bottomline. We will explore  some of the most common organizational obstacles to the establishment of an effective PMO and options to address them. We will learn how a can provide the rules, tools and schools needed for widespread adoption of PMO driven business culture.

Shivani Gupta has extensive experience in Project and PMO Management. She has completed multiple projects for Fortune 500 companies as well as Government sector and is currently leading PMO for a healthcare company.

 She holds an MBA in Operations & Marketing, Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Applications, Bachelor’s in Medicine (ISM) and certifications in Stakeholder management and Statistics. She is a Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Scrum Master (CSM), SAFe Agilest, Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certified and Certified Disciplined Agilist.

Shivani is associated with PMI South Florida since 2012 starting out in Education team, served as VP of Technology for 3 years and currently President-Elect for the Chapter
