PMO: Scaling your Agile PMO

Matrix

To keep pace with the speed at which consumers are demanding products, many large enterprises are moving in the direction to transform their organizations into an Agile (incremental) way of working, to get to market faster.   How do we do this at scale to get to market faster?  Well, the enterprise demands structure above the teams. This is where the Scaled Agile Framework comes in, to provide step by step guidelines on how to maximize value at all levels of the organization. The Agile PMO has a vital role in ensuring agile best practices are conveyed and managed.

Learning Objectives: This session will take you through lean agile principles at the team, program and portfolio levels to boost your Agile PMO.

Chapter April 2017: Six Sigma Skills for Project Managers

Sheraton Imperial RTP

Non-Members $25, Members $10, Volunteers $0

The Empire State Building in New York City with its 102 stories, 73 elevators, 2,500,000 feet of electrical cable and 6,500 windows was built in 410 days. The framework rose at a rate of 4 ½ stories per week. That is nearly a floor a day! And, most impressive was that it came in under budget and ahead of schedule. How did the project managers do it? Obviously, they had to have been the best project managers of the day. They not only applied the tenets of sound project management, but they also used something beyond that. They used concepts found today in Lean and Six Sigma. This presentation is about how these concepts, tools and techniques of Lean and Six Sigma can help project managers to become even more effective.
